A Theatre, Acting, Drama Camp and Workshop for talented students ages 14 through 20 is a full day program for the talented young actor looking for a professional experience. Spend your summer on stage in this hands-on camp that will explore the craft of acting in a conservatory approach with exercises, scene work and theatre games designed to develop performance skills and technique. In addition to classes, all participants are cast in a fully staged play presented to the public in the newly renovated intimate 200-seat Shadow Box Theatre on the Queensborough campus.
Study acting, scene study, voice and diction, movement, on-camera technique, stage combat, mime, Alexander, stage make-up, period styles, audition technique, improvisation, and other performing arts classes. A typical day for the Actors includes classes during the morning hours and then, after lunch, rehearsals for the play with a professional director.
The workshop is a full day 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday with final weekend performances.
All students will have a FEATURED speaking part in the final play.
