Theatre Arts Center conducts interviews and auditions for each student who is interested in joining the Summer Camp Workshops. This process is part of the professional experience.
We hold live auditions at the theater in Bayside, Queens and accept video submissions for those out of town and those unable to make the live auditions.
There is no fee to audition.

What to Prepare
MUSICAL THEATER
(ages 8 – 19)
Prepare a short song, preferably from a Broadway show. (Bring your music on CD, iPod/digital, or cassette tape. A cappella is OK.)
Be prepared to dance. (Dress in dance clothes & jazz shoes or comfortable slacks and sneakers.)
ACTORS’ CONSERVATORY
(ages 14 – 19)
Prepare a short 1-2 minute monologue (memorized).
Teens (14-19) who would like to be considered for Musical Theatre, Acting, and/or the Audition Prep Workshop: Prepare a song, monologue, and be prepared to dance. This will give you more chances of being accepted and finding the workshop that is right for you.
