Theatre Arts Center Summer Performing Arts Camp,  was founded in 1985.   Our program immerses students  in the world of Musical Theatre and Acting in a professional, supportive, and creative atmosphere.

 
A SERIOUS FUN WORKSHOP FOR TALENTED YOUNG PERFORMERS LOOKING FOR A UNIQUE AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE!


 ALL STUDENTS PERFORM IN FULLY STAGED SHOWS!
 

 

OUR PROGRAM IS A FULL DAY OF THEATRE AND DANCE!

SPEND YOUR DAY WITH OTHER TALENTED PERFORMERS IN YOUR AGE GROUP!

The Musical Theatre Workshop
is an intensive and takes place over four weeks of serious FUN, July 9 - Aug. 5, 2012; 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday with final weekend performances.
 Students are cast in one of three performance companies according to age & ability - ages 9-19.   The workshop culminates in a fully staged two-act musical revue choreographed by Broadway Guest Artists, such as the Dance Captain from Billy Elliot. 

 
The workshop ALSO includes classes with working Theatre Arts Professionals in acting, voice,  dance, on-camera acting, improv, and other performing arts.

 

 
 

With Broadway caliber classes, we are conveniently located in residence at the 800-seat PROFESSIONAL PERFORMING ARTS CENTER at Queensborough College in Bayside, Queens near LIRR, and public transportation.  Acceptance by audition*.

 TEEN CABARET & AUDITION WORKSHOP

A workshop for those students preparing for college or high school auditions.
  

The ONE-WEEK session will include preparation of  a Cabaret Show all aspects of audition technique, including song selection, monologues, cold readings, and dance.  

The workshop will culminate with a performance of songs and monologues for the public.

Aug. 6 - 12; 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

TEEN ACTING ENSEMBLE & WORKSHOP
A full day program for the talented young actor looking for a professional experience.

 

This Workshop is for young actors and actresses, ages 14 - 19, who want to focus on  acting and performance technique; non-musical / non-dance.
 The Acting Ensemble is in residence in the Shadow Box Theatre.
