2019/2020 Closings:

There will be no classes on the following days

  • Halloween: October 31

  • Fall Break: November 25-30 (classes resume on December 1)

  • Winter Break: December 20 - January 5 (classes resume on January 6)

  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Day: January 21

  • President's Weekend Break: February 15-17 (classes resume on 18th)

  • Spring Break: April 7-13 (classes resume on 14th)

  • Memorial Day: May 25

  • Classes will not be held when the Central Bucks School District is dismissed or closed due to bad weather. This includes early dismissal due to weather conditions. If you are not sure if classes will be held due to weather, it will be posted here and on our Facebook page. Please note, we ONLY follow CBSD calendar for weather related closings.  

 

Class Attendance:

  • If you are going to be absent for a registered class, please call the office or email us at theatreartscenter@gmail.com to alert us of your absence.  

  • Students are expected to attend all classes. Frequent absences hold back other students in the class. If you miss a class, you are welcome and encouraged to make it up. We reserve the right to dismiss any student whose attendance, attitude or conduct is found unsatisfactory.

 

Observations Weeks:

  • Visitors are welcome to observe classes the last 15 minutes of class during the following dates:   

  • December 5-11 & March TBA. Videotaping is NOT permitted.

Food & Drink:

  • Students should always bring water to class. Please mark water bottles with your name.

  • Food is not allowed in the dance studios, but healthy snacks can be eaten in the lobby.  Absolutely no gum is allowed in the building.

Proper Class Attire:

  • All girls must have their hair pulled back off the face for all classes and in a bun for ballet, lyrical, and modern classes. Boys with long hair must also secure it off their faces.

  • Tights must always be worn under shorts and leotards.

  • All students should wear proper dance attire in all classes! It is important for the teachers to be able to see each student’s form while dancing to enable proper feedback.

 

Lost & Found:

  • Please put your name on all dance shoes and clothing.

  • Items left at the studio will be put in Lost & Found. Please check for lost belongings frequently, as it is cleaned out at the end of each month. Leftover items will be donated to a local thrift store.

 

Clothing Guidelines:

Ballet | Jazz | Lyrical | Modern | Tap | - Leotard and Tights should be worn, but cropped tops, shorts, dance skirts and or capri length pants are optional (teacher’s discretion).

  • Loose fitting clothing or pants that don’t allow the dancer’s form to be seen are not appropriate for class.  Please follow these guidelines for every class.  Any questions about clothing issues can be brought to the office.

  • Acting and Vocal classes: Comfortable street clothes.

Hip Hop classes: Girls and boys should wear shorts or cropped pants and t-shirts.

 

Shoes:

  • Dancers need proper footwear for all classes here at TAC.

  • A football player would never be allowed to go on the field without cleats or a skier without skis!  Dancers must have the proper shoes to perform to the best of their abilities!

  • We can order any shoes that you may need!

  • Jazz - Jazz shoes

  • Tap - Tap shoes

  • Ballet - Ballet slippers

  • Musical Theatre - Jazz shoes 

  • Hip Hop - Sneakers
